Our Island Dog and His "Calypso Kitty Harem"

Our island dog, Finnegan, spends a lot of time poolside these days.

So do his cats, expecially Kiwi and Copper...

Its a perfect morning for a cool walk about the pool...

Must be time for breakfast!

Life is always great on the island!

OUR ISLAND DOG'S STORY

Finnegan is our island dog. He is smart, fun and a cancer suvivor--just like us.

Finnegan has lived a hard life. Orphaned and abandoned in a roadside ditch as a puppy, Finnegan was adopted by a nice family in Wisconsin, where he lived for several years.

Unfortunately, Finnegan's new family was unable to keep him, when one of their human children developed a very serious and expensive disease.

So once again, Finnegan was on the move. Fortunately, our good friend back in Wisconsin, Lisa, suggested we rescue him and give him a new, permanent home--in hot, sunny Florida!

Finnegan has flourished here in the tropics, surrounded by water. He loves laying by our pool--or hanging-out at the dog beach on Honeymoon Island.

Finnegan lives with us and our six rescued, adopted cats just minutes from the Gulf of Mexico in Weeki Wachee, Florida.
